Air Supply

AIR SUPPLY LIVE AT ARENA OF STARS, RESORT WORLD GENTING HIGHLAND

We had a family day earlier in Janda Baik from 14th -15th December 2019 which I have posted earlier.  After we checked out from Janda Baik on 15th December 2019, we went straight to Genting Highland, which was only about 10min drive from Janda Baik. Air Supply concert was on the night itself at 8.30 pm.

We checked in at Resort World Awana for 1 night.  We stayed in the Superior Deluxe Room, which accommodated the 4 of us.

We had our lunch, unpacked, and got ready to go to Arena of Stars by Awana Skyway (cable car).  From Resort World Awana, we drove and parked our car at the Awana SkyCentral, which is adjoining to Genting Highland Premium Outlets.

We bought the cable car tickets and waited for about 30 minutes to get on it as the queue was very long because it was a school holiday. There were many tourists, mainly from China and Indonesia, queuing with us to get a ride. Each standard cable car can fit in 10 passengers.

It took 10 minutes from Awana SkyCentral to the SkyAvenue Station at the peak. Once we reached there, we walked to the Arena of Stars to watch Air Supply.  It was perfect timing for us as we arrived there right on time before the concert started.

Graham Russell and Russell Hitchcock with their band took the centre of the stage with their greatest hit songs, namely Sweet Dreams, Here I am, Goodbye, The one that you love, Lost in love, Making Love, Without you, All out of love, etc.  I was quite surprised that my young daughter, Ellisha, enjoyed the oldies songs.

It was definitely a spectacular night for us. For a pair of 70 years old, their voices blew the roofs off of Arena of Stars. I was really amazed at the fact that they sang even better live compared to studio recordings. They really don't need any autotune. I hope they will come here again for another tour.  After the concert, we had our dinner and took a cable car to Awana SkyCentral.   We reached our hotel at about midnight.

On the next morning, we had our buffet breakfast at the hotel and checked out from the hotel at noon and drove back to our home. The buffet was relatively simple as they served the usual Malaysian breakfast meal: nasi lemak, some porridge, and a lot more.

Resort World Awana is a beautiful place to stay, especially if you stay on the high floor of which we did as the view was awesome. The hotel is located at mid-hill with a view of the mountain range. But when the foggy gets thick, you literally can't see anything. It is also only a few minutes drive to Genting Highland Premium Outlet.   The only bad point about this hotel is that we had to pay for our parking tickets even though we were the hotel guests so be prepared to spend some money on parking at this hotel if you wish to stay here.
